The Chisum Trails Wagon is an 1888 Peter Shuttler Freight Wagon. Shuttler was the "Cadillac" or the very best wagon of the time. Peter Shuttler was a German immigrant who started building wagons when he returned to the United States. The wagon was sold by House Hardware, which is Painted on the front, left side "Sold by House Hardware". House Hardware was the only downtown business to survive the Paris fire. "1888" is stamped over the back side of the front axle above the coupler board. It was restored by Lloyd Welchel & Haskell Maroni.
